Estabrook's Heritage

Reaching its roots back to 1886, the present Estabrook's Insurance Agency opened its doors as Barnes-Weesner Insurance. Rhinelander itself was only four years old, and the agency served the new community's insurance and real estate needs, while operating a loan department as well.

In 1924 Rhinelander had grown considerably, and the agency - insuring a much larger territory - changed its name to North Wisconsin Agency. Three years later, Clyde Estabrook joined the growing insurance firm.

During the next 35 years, the agency expanded its services, changed its name to Estabrook's Incorporated and outgrew its quarters in the Merchants State Bank Building. In 1962 the agency moved to its present location at 111 North Brown St., a building designed for its occupants only business - INSURANCE.
